Kia Ora welcome to Adventure Inn Marahau, Marahau’s only 100% dedicated backpacker accommodation. We are a new family run Backpackers with emphasis on rest and relaxation. Situated in the centre or Marahau, right beside Kayak and Aqua Taxi, we are in the perfect location. 400m from the beach front, shop and Restaurant, and 700m from the entrance to the National Park and Park Cafe, nothing over five min walk away. Our venue is large and spacious. With big communal areas, so you are not bound to hanging out in your rooms, having a large TV lounge with thousands of movies to choose from, big outdoor areas, grass and courtyard, picnic tables and bean bags, bbqs and pool tables, indoor and outdoor fireplaces. We have Takaways on site to remove the burden of cooking your own dinners, breakfast or even packed lunches. Barista coffee and cold drinks.
Our vision for the future is to create a place that not only offers beds for people wanting to access the national park, but offers a venue that travellers will want to stay longer, tell their friends about, and will want to return again. We want to make your stay not just a place to sleep, but an experience that is equivalent to experiencing our beautiful National Park so that your entire stay in Abel Tasman is unforgettable. We have features that are unrivalled and we want to bring more and more to the accommodation experience.
This hostel is made with love and you can feel it. The two owners are super friendly, very kiwi and always available for a quick chat or a joke. There is a movie night every in a little cinema. The common area is great to hang out and meet new people. Beds are nice and give you some privacy.
Top notch! The guys running the show are super warm, welcoming, and helpful – they honestly couldn’t do more to make you feel right at home. The place is kept really clean, and the free shuttle bus made getting there so easy. Great location, less than a 5 min walk to the beach, and they have a CINEMA!!! Loved my time here
Probably the favourite hostel we’ve stayed at yet, ended staying double the time we planned. Such a nice vibe and top owners, thank you for having us so long!
Really comfy beds with plug sockets and a light by each one. 700 metres from the entrance to National Park. Nightly movie screenings in the cinema room was really nice – get in there early to get the reclining armchairs and blankets! Popcorn also sold. A ‘food truck’ selling breakfast and dinners. Recommend going to a supermarket before getting to Marahau as there is not one there! Would definitely stay here again.
manager is super friendly and welcoming and did free drop offs and pick ups for us. hostel had a nice cosy environment with a fire place, yet the best part was definitely the cinema room which had 1000s of films to chose from with bean bags and chairs that recline and popcorn- was nice to have a change from such noisy and basic backpacker hostels we had previously been staying in. loved it :))
